The Odinist

£10.00

Inverness author and former Highland Councillor, Roy Pedersen, has just published his third murder mystery mainly set in the Highlands and Islands.

The story starts with the discovery, on a Skye shoreline, of the murdered body of a Highland councillor. A luxury motor yacht is cruising down the Sound of Sleat. It is owned by a mysterious Norwegian industrialist who follows the Pagan cult of Odin. He is on a death moot. Meanwhile, over 4,000 miles away, the body of a crooked shipping clerk is found floating in False Creek, Vancouver, Canada.

The links between these apparently unconnected events start to become clear when ex monk Brother Richard and Frances McGarrigle take an autumn break in the Highlands. After visiting their old friend Professor Ruairidh Alasdair Macdonald on Loch Ness-side and discovering that his wife had left him, they headed for the Isle of Skye. There they find themselves in mortal peril to become the targets of a fiendish and murderous conspiracy that is seeking to control international trade, finance and Scotland’s huge potential tidal stream energy resources. A deadly and thrilling chase ensues through the West Highlands and Islands with many an unexpected twist and turn of the plot.
