The truth is they wouldn\u2019t go into government because Sinn F\u00e9in won the election. They refused to accept the result because of what it revealed about the changing nature of Northern Ireland and their place in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They couldn\u2019t bear the prospect of playing second fiddle to people they consider to be their social and ethnic inferiors. And they can\u2019t accept what SF\u2019s win says about the future of Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whatever deal they\u2019ve agreed to it\u2019s unquestionable they\u2019ll find a way to renege on it sooner rather than later.
